It all began with the Graduation Ceremony

A new beginning for the CEIBS Global EMBA 2019 cohort, from students to alumni, aligned with the economic recovery and opening in 2023. To carry out the cohort motto #ConnectToGrow, we decided to develop an ongoing series of deep dives into classmates' company visits and learning-with-leisure activities. We nicknamed this whole effort the “Post-G-Program”, designed to help us consistently "check in" with each other, no matter where our post-GEMBA lives take us.

One key takeaway from our collective CEIBS experience is that we believe the best way to learn is by connecting with real-world experiences. In particular, the experiences of our peers. By visiting our classmates' companies, a bridge is created between the theoretical knowledge we have gained in the classroom and the practical realities of the business world. As CEIBS GEMBA alumni, we now fully appreciate that hands-on experience is crucial to developing a well-rounded skillset in this BANI World.*

From Brand to Consumer- The fashion world is so dynamic and fascinating

Any debut event needs to have plenty of styles. The Buy Quickly (BQ) and Romomo visit was generously endorsed and sponsored by our classmate Winnie Wu, who ensured that we all enjoyed an Exclusive VIP experience, from the moment we entered the company to the moment we left. The first amazing installment of this trip was in the Buy Quickly Creative Studio, where everyone gets the chance to be a supermodel while feeling the vibe of how the visual tonality and shooting rhythm of brand e-commerce is produced in this spacious studio. The next stop was the BQ IT Hub, where we were introduced to the highly innovative real-time dashboard of business performance and forecasting. This revealed a key source of the hidden competitive strength of BQ, given its position as a tech-savvy organisation.

All at the same time, dozens of live streamers, each in their own branded glass-wall studios, were enthusiastically merchandising products to the viewers and some of us were even encouraged to place an order immediately to show support for this fantastic experience!

The climax of the company visit was when the KOL Miss. Jinyu came round to the meeting room for a mini-lecture of how she made the change from a model to a live-streaming KOL to achieve a million sales in 6 months. She is a Master of Fashion Management from The University of Manchester (UK). She started her career as a model and a blogger on Little Red Book and always had a feeling of disconnection in this metropolitan city of Shanghai. Joining Romomo with a professional team to work together gives her a sense of belonging and a purpose to create value for the brands and her viewers.

From Macro to Micro - A Tale of Tianjin, the Emperor's Port

As the longest-serving cohort in all GEMBA history, (who have finally graduated!) we've spent most of our time in Shanghai during the past four years. Now, the GEMBA 2019 Alumni cohort plans to explore other nearby cities. Tianjin was eventually picked as the first out-of-Shanghai class trip reunion destination so that we could visit both AirBus and CanSino all in one day.

Tianjin is the gateway to the capital city of🔸快乐10分玩法说明, meaning "the Emperor's Port" which came into being during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Tianjin is located on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean, in the convergence zone of the Beijing-Tianjin Hebei Urban Agglomeration and the Bohai-Rim Economic Circle. It is famous for its coastal scenery, historical relics, and culture. It’s also a growing hub for all forms of new business innovation.

The first tour was an exclusive access visit to Airbus (Tianjin) Final Assembly Co., Ltd, kindly accompanied by Mr. Thomas Florian MACK, General Manager, who shared some of his invaluable insights gained from workshop to the final assembly line. Airbus is not only shaping the aviation landscape but is also inspiring generations of engineers, making it an extraordinary company. This excellence goes beyond its remarkable aircraft designs and technological advancements. It places a strong emphasis on process excellence and commitment to sustainability and safety, ensuring that every aspect of its operations adheres to the highest standards.

With a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement, Airbus has implemented robust manufacturing processes that optimise productivity and deliver outstanding quality. In September 2022, the company delivered its 600th A320 Family aircraft to its customers, marking another incredible milestone. On 9th November 2022, Airbus Tianjin celebrated its another new milestone, the inauguration of the A321 Upgrade Project, which means Airbus Tianjin is now capable of producing all variants of the A320 family. This is a remarkable example of how Airbus Tianjin utilised the COVID-19 crisis to create an opportunity.

CanSinoBIO has established a rich portfolio of pipeline products, preventing more than ten diseases, including COVID-19, Ebola virus disease, tuberculosis, meningitis, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, shingles, and is participating in innovative R&D collaboration with multiple research institutions across the world. Jeanne Wang was our tour guide, demonstrating her passion for labwork in the innovation center and the “dream corner” where blueprint 1.0 of CanSino is painted on the wall. The entrepreneurial passion evident across the company was so inspiring that every classmate could instinctively feel how CanSino's business is changing the world to become a better and safer place.

CanSino has large-scale manufacturing bases in Tianjin and Shanghai, with a floor area of over 100,000 square metres. In addition, local filling production lines have been set up in Mexico, Pakistan, and Malaysia to establish joint manufacturing. Its fully-fledged marketing and supply system covers🔸快乐10分玩法说明, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and other countries/regions, ensuring rapid distribution of vaccine products across the world. As a leader in innovative vaccine R&D, our visit was a real “seeing is believing” moment that showed us all how CanSino is committed to the protection of global public health.

Reflections on how we can continue to Connect to Grow

The Post-G-Program of class learning tour centered around the theme "Connect to Grow", and it has been an incredibly enlightening experience already. Coming together with classmates again and rekindling old friendships reminded us about the power of connection. As we embarked on this journey of self-discovery and growth, we realised that our individual paths had led us to different corners of the world, and yet, we were all bound by a shared history and a desire to learn and evolve.

Through engaging discussions and thought-provoking activities, we delved into topics that stretched our minds and challenged our perspectives. The diversity of experiences and opinions within us provided a rich tapestry of insights that inspired personal growth and intellectual expansion. It was through the act of connecting, sharing, and listening that we truly flourished as individuals and as a collective.

Leonardo da Vinci once said: "Learning never exhausts the mind." This quote resonates deeply with our class reunion experience. As we reconnected with one another, we realised that growth is a continuous journey. Our reunion trip together served as a reminder that learning and personal development are lifelong pursuits that can be amplified through meaningful connections. By fostering relationships and opening ourselves up to new ideas, we have grown not only intellectually but also emotionally and professionally.
